About Us
Rooted in Burnaby by vision; building a spiritual home led by God.
Since the early 2000s, as the number of Mandarin-speaking immigrants moving to Burnaby grew day by day, our church received a shared vision: to spread the Gospel widely to our Mandarin-speaking compatriots and to build a warm spiritual home for Mandarin-speaking believers.
Looking Back on the Path of Grace
- The Sprouting Stage (2013): The Mandarin ministry was officially launched. Beginning as a small group of just over ten people, it gradually developed into an adult fellowship, as well as youth and children's ministries.
- Bilingual Parallelism (2013–2020): To cater to different language needs, the church held bilingual Sunday services in Cantonese and Mandarin for a long time, progressing from live on-stage translation to simultaneous interpretation via headphones.
- A Shift of Faith (2020): Although the plan for a "purely Mandarin service" was temporarily shelved due to a shortage of hands, God miraculously made a way amidst the challenges of the pandemic. Under the leadership of Pastor Hoi Hung Lam and his wife, an online Mandarin Sunday service was officially launched on November 1, 2020.
- Establishing the In-Person Ministry (2021 to present): As the pandemic subsided, the first in-person Mandarin service was held on September 5, 2021. Over the past four-plus years, attendance has grown steadily from the initial 15 people to nearly 40 people.
Having walked this 13-year path of grace, we have witnessed firsthand God's wonderful deeds and guidance. May all glory be given to God our Father who loves us!
