Statement of Faith
1. The Gospel of God originates from, and manifests, the wondrous and perfect eternal Triune God
We believe in the one and only God, the Creator of all things, who is holy, absolutely perfect, eternally self-existent, mutually dwelling in love, co-equal in glory, and triune: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He possesses infinite knowledge and supreme power. From eternity, God has had a benevolent purpose, determining to redeem humanity for Himself and to renew all things for His own glory.
2. The Gospel of God is authoritatively revealed in the Holy Scriptures
We believe that God speaks to humanity through the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Written by human hands, the Scriptures are divinely inspired, inerrant in their original manuscripts, the complete revelation of God’s plan of redemption for mankind, and the ultimate criterion for human knowledge and conduct in the world. Therefore, all that the Bible teaches must be believed, all that it requires must be obeyed, and all that it promises must be trusted.
3. The Gospel of God inherently satisfies our deepest needs
We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His own image, but they were tempted by Satan and sinned. In Adam, all human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, alienated from God and under His wrath. Only through God’s salvation in Jesus Christ can we be saved, reconciled, and renewed.
4. The Gospel of God is fully understood through the Person of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, two natures in one unique person. Jesus—the Messiah promised by God to Israel—was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.
5. The Gospel of God is accomplished through the work of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ became our sin-bearer and substitute, shedding His precious blood on the cross as a perfect and complete sacrifice. His substitutionary death for atonement and His victorious resurrection constitute the sole foundation of redemption.
6. The Gospel of God is applied through the power of the Holy Spirit
We believe that all the work of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. He convicts the world of sin. He regenerates sinners, and in Him, sinners are baptized into union with Christ and adopted as heirs into the family of God. He also indwells, illuminates, guides, equips, and empowers believers to live Christ-like lives, serving God and ministering to others.
7. The Gospel of God is now embodied in a new community called the Church
We believe that the true Church is composed of those who, by God’s grace, have been justified through simple faith in Christ alone. They are united by the Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ, joined to Christ the Head. In each local church, because its membership is comprised of believers, the true Church is made visible. The Lord Jesus established two ordinances, Baptism and the Lord's Supper, both of which visibly express the meaning of the Gospel. While these ordinances do not save anyone, when the Church administers them with sincere faith, they strengthen and nurture believers.
8. The Gospel of God commands us to live Christ-like lives and bear witness to the world
We believe that God’s justifying grace is never separate from His sanctifying power and purpose. God commands us to love Him with supreme love and to love others with sacrificial, self-giving love, while living out our faith through mutual care, showing mercy to the poor, and acting justly for the oppressed. We are to fight against evil spiritual forces through the Word of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and earnest prayer in Christ's name. We must fulfill Christ’s Great Commission to make disciples of all nations, constantly witnessing to the Gospel in both word and deed.
9. The Gospel of God will be fully consummated by the Lord Christ Himself in the end times
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will personally, bodily, and gloriously return. Accompanied by His holy angels, His kingdom will be fully consummated, and He will judge the entire world. Only God knows when Christ will return; nevertheless, believers must watch for it at all times, allowing this glorious hope to motivate us to live godly lives, engage in self-sacrificial service, and actively fulfill our mission.
10. The Gospel of God requires a response that carries eternal consequences
We believe that God commands all people everywhere to believe the Gospel, turning back to God through confession, repentance, and acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that God will raise the bodies of the dead and judge the world, assigning unbelievers to condemnation and eternal conscious punishment, and welcoming believers into the new heaven and new earth to enjoy eternal joy and fellowship with the Lord, to the praise of His glorious grace. Amen.
Statement of Purpose
As the Body of Christ, acknowledging Him as Lord and the source of our strength, we have a fourfold purpose:
Worshiping God the Father
Through thanksgiving, sharing in song, and enjoying the Lord's presence, including Holy Communion and prayer.
Spiritual Growth
Studying God's Word and applying biblical principles to our lives to manifest the character of Christ.
Caring for One Another
Edifying and encouraging one another, utilizing our spiritual gifts to serve each other.
Proclaiming the Gospel
Sharing the Gospel with others through the Scriptures and the witness of our lives.
