Rev. Sam Lam was born in Hong Kong and was saved by the Lord in 1998. He was baptized in 2000 at Grace Spring Church of the Evangelical Free Church of China. In 2005 he answered God's call to full-time ministry and was equipped at Evangel Seminary, where he earned a Bachelor of Theology and a Master of Divinity. After graduating he returned to pastor at his home church, Grace Spring Church, and in 2016 he joined Burnaby Chinese Evangelical Free Church, where he continues to serve.

As Lead Pastor and Chinese Ministries Pastor, he is responsible for the overall pastoral care of the church, preaching and teaching, leadership development, discipleship training, and the growth of Chinese ministries. He is committed to gospel outreach and intergenerational shepherding, longing to build a church that is grounded in Scripture, centred on Christ, and directed by its mission — equipping believers as disciples of the Lord and living out the witness of Christ in the community.

Rev. Lam serves alongside his wife, Pastor Lai Hing-ying, who ministers in a volunteer capacity. A graduate of Evangel Seminary with a Master of Divinity, she now serves as a volunteer pastor at BCEFC, taking an active part in Mandarin ministry, personal care, gospel outreach, and small-town short-term missions. Together with the church staff she cares for the congregation and serves the community as a witness to the love of Christ. They have one son, who has grown up in the church, and as a family they are wholeheartedly committed to it, experiencing God's grace together in ministry, service, and daily life.

Pastor Grace Chang was born into a Christian family. She came to faith in elementary school and, as a young person, responded to God's call to invest her life in the work of His Kingdom. Pastor Chang taught school in Hong Kong before immigrating to Canada in 1988. In 1994 she completed a degree in Christian Education at Prairie Bible College in Alberta, and she has also studied at the Children's Ministries Institute of Child Evangelism Fellowship in the United States.

Pastor Chang has a special love for children — she is their teacher, leader, and friend. She joined the BCEFC family in June 2013 and has served alongside the brothers and sisters here ever since.

Pastor Jean was born in Hong Kong and made her decision to follow Christ in 2004. Responding to God’s calling, she came to Vancouver in 2023 to pursue a Master of Theological Studies at the Canadian Chinese School of Theology at Vancouver. After graduating in 2025, she joined Burnaby Chinese Evangelical Free Church, where she continues to serve.

Pastor Jean is currently involved in youth and family ministries, with a particular focus on the Preteens - Adolescents. She concerns their inner growth and hopes to walk alongside them during these formative stages of life and faith, guiding them through biblical truth and personal testimony to grow in Christ within their daily lives, to help them gradually build a strong and healthy foundation of faith. She believes that faith begins with knowing the truth, through which each life is continually shaped and formed, and is then naturally expressed in daily living and service.

In addition, Pastor Jean enjoys travelling, reading and pastel art, she believes that art is a gift from God that can serve as a channel of healing, blessing and the communication of faith. She often integrates Scripture with artistic creation, expressing hope, love and light through colours in the creative process.

Pastor Jean is married to her husband, Benny, and they are blessed with one daughter Vivian. As a family, they also enjoy life and cherish time spent together with their beloved dog, Kobe in Richmond.

Pastor Lau came to faith in 2006. In 2022, answering God's call, she came to Vancouver to study for a Master of Divinity at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) at Trinity Western University, graduating in 2026 and joining Burnaby Chinese Evangelical Free Church to serve in Mandarin ministry.

Her hope is to see lives revived and the church renewed through the Word of God, building up the body of Christ and fulfilling the Lord's will.

Pastor Lau has one son, now grown and living independently, so she is able to devote herself fully to the work of God's Kingdom.

Anna Lui was born in Hong Kong and came to faith in 1990. She joined Burnaby Chinese Evangelical Free Church in January 2017.

Anna is married and has one daughter.
