ENGLISH PRETEEN AND JUNIOR HIGH MINISTRY PASTOR (PART-TIME)

Burnaby Chinese Evangelical Free Church, a 30-year-old church with a growing
congregation of about 230, has Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Children ministries.
We are now seeking a pastor dedicated to shepherding students from upper
elementary to junior high (Grades 5–9).

Working schedule: 3 days per week

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an evangelical seminary with a minimum of M.Div. degree or equivalent.
• Fluent in English; ability to communicate in Cantonese or Mandarin is an asset but not
  required.
• A clear calling and passion for youth ministry, especially in nurturing pre-teens and
  early teens in their faith journey.
• Experience in leading youth fellowship, organizing age-appropriate Sunday school and
  worship, and equipping volunteer leaders.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Organize and preach in Sunday school and worship services tailored to this age group.
• Lead a vibrant fellowship for students in Grades 5–9.
• Mentor and equip a team of volunteer counselors and small group leaders.
• Partner with parents and church leadership to cultivate spiritual growth in the next
  generation.

ENGLISH YOUTH PASTOR (PART-TIME)

Burnaby Chinese Evangelical Free Church (BCEFC) is seeking a youth pastor.
This role is critical in providing spiritual leadership to the English-speaking youth
in our congregation.

Position: English Youth Pastor (Part-time)

Working schedule: 4 days per week

The primary responsibilities of the Youth Pastor are the followings:

• As Christ’s shepherd, provide youth with mentorship, build trusting
  relationships, and model a life of discipleship. Nurture youth to become
  committed followers of Jesus.
• Perform visitation and counselling to the needs of the youth.
• Work with the English Ministry and Deacon Board to provide spiritual
  leadership training, youth program, fellowship, Youth Sunday Worship and
  Sunday School.
• Develop and expand the outreach program to the youth.
• Assist the Children Ministry as required.

Applicants should have these qualifications:

• Graduates, or Students from an evangelical seminary or equivalent.
• Must be fluent in English; able to communicate in Cantonese or Mandarin
  would be an asset but not necessary.
